Have you noticed that body positivity has been leaving the media space lately? Plus-size models exist, but they are written about much less than 5-7 years ago. And Ashley Graham even said in an interview that designers refuse to work with her because of her weight.
The inglorious death of body positivity makes me happy. Because it promoted extremely unhealthy things.
Let’s agree: comments about someone’s height, weight, facial features and other features of appearance are rock bottom. Ridicule of people with physical disabilities or disabilities is even rock bottom.
But this was known long before body positivity emerged.
For some reason, body positivity adherents have begun to spread very strange notions of beauty to the masses. If it’s a figure, then only size XXXXXXXL; if it’s legs and armpits, then hairy; if it’s hair, then unwashed and unkempt; if it’s nails, then bitten; if it’s clothes, then stained with menstrual blood.
For some reason, it was considered beautiful . Although beauty standards have been formed over centuries and have not changed much throughout human history. Slenderness and correct facial features were praised by the ancient Greeks. And neatness has been considered a rule of good manners for many centuries.
And then body positive people come along and suggest that this is what is considered beautiful:
Someone decided to follow the new trend for fun, but most laughed and forgot about it. Outrageousness is outrageous, but people are not idiots and understand that ugliness cannot be attractive.
